Congratulations!
never been to Wellington, but I am sure it is great!
I come from Vienna, which is always in the top 5. I am actually very curious about the criteria for ranking the cities.

Totally Agree! Welly is the best capital city of the World! and that is so true! love the City, its Modern and Clean, and rates up there with other great cities of the World. Welly is a mini version of (San francisco & Hong Kong)

Hello again Kiwi,

Just a thought but do you have your website link on this New Zealand site?
http://www.madefromnewzealand.com

The team from this site is made up of NZ innovative Businesses and this weekend they are doing a massive sandfern on Oriental bay with the locals.
It is a great site just like yours, both of which I discovered today...lucky me!
Cheers

Kiaora Kiwibloke,

Thanks your response. I tried to edit my post to correct the spelling of Rimutakas but couldn't...sorry for that! I still have two sisters and two brothers in Wellie. Next time I'm there I'm going to do the overnight harbour trip with dinner. The boat belongs to one of my fav hotels..the old Wellesly on Willis. I'm very proud of the fact that Wellie is also the IT capital of Asia Pacific, is a major Financial player in the region. The film industry is striving and LOVE 'The flight of the Concords'
Arohanui!

I have to agree absolutely! I was born & raised in Wellie but have not lived in NZ for a long time. Growing up there were a million ways to enjoy yourself. Some weekends we just caught the ferry over to Picton, else we hiked and rode horses around Maraka, up to the Kapiti coast only 30 miles away or over the Rimatakus to Masterton...all within a couple of hours! Wellingtonians are by far the most educated, travelled and friendliest people in NZ. I should know has have travelled every inch of her and lived in Takapuna, Auckland's North Shore for 8 years....no comparsion people wise. The biggest thrill of all was returning from overseas and coming into land at Twlight, just when all the City lights came on...brought tears to my eyes...Wellie harbour looked majestic as good as anywhere else in World including HongKong harbour.
Wellingtonians would survive any place else in the World easily, second to none. The whole education system there teaches invaluable life skills and extensive knowledge for life of the World. Thankyou from the heart Wellington!
