Red Head Woman in Red
I took this photo on the Picton waterfront (top of the South Island) just before New Years 2009. The photo has been slightly touched up to accent the red and the blue. It was one of those photos that you did not have a lot of time to react.
Red is a very powerful color. Wear red whenever you feel a need to portray confidence or would like to boost your self esteem. However, be aware that wearing too much red can make a person come off a little too intimidating to others who may lack self confidence in themselves. Visualizing the color red can help ground your energies so anyone who has “flighty” tendencies will benefit from wearing red to serve as a reminder to ground themselves throughout the day.

Red can really pack a punch when needed.
Red is the color associated with the root chakra. Visualizing is an easy tool to help ground yourself. Imagining the color red and maintaining your focus on it during meditation will assist you in staying connected to the earth’s grounding energies. Sometimes it is easier to visualize objects rather than colors, so imagine a big juicy apple, or the the fleshy insides of a watermelon. You could take this step even further by visualizing the planting of watermelon seeds rooting themselves deeply into the soil.

Great photo! What does that tattoo signify?
I can only wear a little red. Maybe I’m too timid. You’ll usually find me in black and blue.
I think it is ying and yang.
KB
Yes, I can see now that it’s ying and yang.
i still thingking what that women do…
What software did you use to edit the photo? I love the contrast between the colors. Red is also associated with war, angry and tough.
cool photo and nice article I enjoy reading keep posting..
Great shot , it looks a s though you did a filter on the blue , or was that photoshop? It’s a very natural shot , I am suprised you managed to focus in time and still keep the essesnce of the photo (so often destroyed when you have to retake or pose, especially when they realise you have the camera out !), especially difficult in bright light with the fstop depth of field and all!

Sally cheers for the comment.
The blue was added in post because it was a very bright day. I did have my camera out and I did have a polarizer on and ready but she was originally walking towards me and I didnt notice at first. Then she turns around to show the tatoo, and lifts up her dress for the water and baammm.
The post was done with Photoshop CS3
Nice photo what did you use to do the touching up do you have a before and after image. Red is very attractive i think
The intense red against the blue stands out really well indeed
I agree with RED color properties…
I also easily fall in-love with ladies in red.
Strong personalities really stands.
I like your red lady with nice little tatoo on her neck!
This is a lovely photo that makes me wonder about its setting. Is she related to the photographer? Is she even aware that she’s the subject of a photo? Good pictures inspire questions. Perhaps you could retouch this one further to bring out some details in her hair on the shadowy side of her head.
