The list was somewhat surprising concerning some of the countries. I think there are a lot of democracies that really should overview their ant- corruption tactics.

I attempted years ago to emigrate from the US to New Zealand.
I was charmed by the very thing this article speaks of, not to mention that New Zealand is beautiful. It is the only country in the world without a single poisonous organism.
Well, at that time, I didn’t have enough money or the proper skills to be accepted. Now that I have both, I am too old, and New Zealand still will not accept me as a citizen.
Too bad. I would have loved to contribute to the wealth and skill level of the Country, but I suppose NZ believes I do not have enough years left to make up for being taken aboard.
No matter. I am happy in California. But, I still wonder what would have been my destiny had I had been allowed to emigrate 30 years ago.

New Zealand is the least corrupt country in the world for a reason. Low population and high incomes.

This a noteworthy honor but who makes the decision and what is the criteria? What is the function of Transparency International? Is it a service to investors looking for opportunities in other countries not despoiled by corruption?

New Zealand also has a strong sporting heritage, with their most recognised sport being Rugby Union. The National team is known as the All Blacks are passionate about their team. Without fail, if you ask a Kiwi about rugby, they will talk for hours on the subject.

Very interesting list. But what would be more interesting is to show how much in millions or billions of dollars has been corrupted. Now, that would be a real shocker.

Very interesting list I see the United States land of the free not even in the top ten, but at least they cracked the top 20, barely. I like this list though it will help me plan where I am going to live when I retire and leave the U.S.
