Forget Madonna shaped toast, a Kiwi shaped feijoa fruit has landed a kiwi couple $1000 for their troubles.

What is this feijoa fruit? Is it like a pear?
It always cracks me up when people pay for food that looks like things, like a potato chip in the shape of the state of Illinois.
Fruit is already expensive!
@Cath: A feijoa is like a green guava. Grows on a vine and is peeled and eaten like guava. Closest relative is the Guava.
Both are from the family: Myrtaceae

I am shocked, they spend 1000 $ for only one fruit. What is this fruit made of gold or what? It’s too much, the next fruit will cost how much 1200 $.
