If people from lower hut tend to be rowdy and cause disruption to the motel owner then he has every reason to create a ban. I am sick of people like that ruining our country, its unbeleivable the amount of people that think they are owed something from society when they are such disruptions to us!
@james: I agree the guy is well within his rights to ban people. I think the issue was that it was a blanket ban of Lower Hutt, rather than say banning just sports teams in his motel.
I just want to clarify that it’s Wainuiomata that the motel has banned, not Lower Hutt. Wainui is a suburb of Lower Hutt.
True it is Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt is used for convenience for our overseas friends.
Oh it is his motel and if roudy sports teams disturb his guests then it could eventually affect his business. So I think he has done the right thing in the interest of his business and the people staying at the motel.
We are into the motels gig and we understand the problem better. Often youngsters create problem and the pose to jeopardize the families weekend or vacation. We have encountered several situations like that and we did the same to make sure the couples/families are safe and get what they want. Only because of certain irresponsible youths these problems occur.
I think that such an expressive ban can spoil the reputation of this motel.
