Gary Vaynerchuk Does Kiwi Sauvingon Blancs (Video)

...some time ago.. by kiwibloke · 10 Comments

WineLibraryTV, the Top Gear of Wine Reviewers, and Gary Vaynerchuk dig into three New Zealand Sav Blancs.

They are the 2008 Chasing Venus, the 2008 Allan Scott and the iconic 2007 Cloudy Bay. All of these are from the Marlborough region at the top of the South Island.

Gary has an in your face style of Wine Journalism and is not short on sharing his opinion. However he is extremely knowledgeable. His popular blog WineLibraryTV can be found here.

Cat pee? Is that what the wine tastes like?

Some Sauv Bancs (especially the typical style of New Zealand) can smell of nothing but grass, nettles and cat pee). But not from the premium styles.

lol, we all have our own pallets. I personally have sniffed a dodgy smelling Sauv Blanc or two before that had strong whiffs of kitty piss.

We’re all always learning. Even the vay-ner-chuck. get yourself to a friendly wine merchants and ask about it, they’ll easily be able to point you in the direction of a stinker ;)

Gary, I’ve got an original SNL John Belushi doll in the Bee outfit if you want to trade a bottle of NZ SVB for it.
