Forget the Segway, that is so 2005. The latest in rich toys is the Martin Jetpack from New Zealand Company Martin Aircraft Company of Christchurch New Zealand. Just like kiwi Sir Alex Hamilton invented the Jetboat for rounding up sheep,

The company was founded by Glenn Martin in 1991 tasked with the passion of creating the worlds first personal air transporter. This lead to the launch of the Martin Jetpack and it’s subsequent commercial release:

Inventor Glenn Martin said interest had appeared from all over the world, with some individuals and organisations getting out their wallets.

“I always expected there would be people buying them for fun, but there is also a lot of commercial interest, from companies and organisations who can see they would be a useful thing to use for border patrol, or search and rescue.”

It consists of two rotors, powered by a 200-horsepower piston engine to create a 1 hour flying time. The kiwi inventor has been at it for the last 27 years creating what will be the ultimate in personal transportation.

Back when the inventor first started talking about the Segway. He said it would revolutionize the way we get around what happen almost no one has them. The only people I’ve seen on them were people in tour groups riding around on them and police once in a while on them.
