Next thing you know, they or their young escape and suddenly NZ's crawling in deadly salties. New Zealand has a long history of introducing animals that cause havoc. They introduced rabbits, which started ruining a lot of their farming. Then they introduced stoats to take care of the rabbits, which starting eating all of their beautiful ground birds instead. Lol...they need to give it a break. If it wasn't for their meddling, the country would have no natural predators and would only be filled with beautiful and unusual birds, as it was before people got there.
