Queenstown – World’s Top Outdoor Destination

Trip Advisor has released their annual list of World’s top destinations and Queenstown and Rotorua have both made the list as must-see locales. Queenstown took the cake for top outdoor destination ahead of some stiff competition from Whistler British Columbia,  Rocky Mountain Colorado, Masai Mara Kenya and Banff Alberta.

Queenstown fared best winning the title of ‘No 1 Outdoor and Adventure Destination in the World’ in the annual Travelers Choice Awards, as well as coming 15th overall in the ‘Top 25 Destinations in the World’.

The 2010 Travelers’ Choice Awards named Queenstown as:

  • fourth favorite ‘Europeans’ Destination in the World’
  • second overall in ‘Top 10 South Pacific Destinations’
  • second in ‘Culture and Sightseeing Destinations in the South Pacific’
  • third in ‘Top 10 Food & Wine Destinations in the South Pacific’
  • third in ‘Top 10 Nightlife Destinations in the South Pacific’.
