Here is the thing about this movie. I love Peter Jackson movies in general, LOVED the book. I can honestly say that The Lovely Bones was one of the best books I have ever read, so moving, heartrending and all that painful good stuff I like in a book from time to time.

BUT I cannot STAND Marky Mark. Ug. I was worried about it being made into a movie before I heard he was attached. I adore Rachael Weisz (however you spell it) but WHY Whahlberg?? Bummer! I don’t think I can look past him. I just don’t.

The Lovely bones is one of the most incredible book i have ever read, it made me cry and it made me happy i was actually living the characters, i would pretty much like to watch this movie just to see if the characters are truly justified are not but as far as i know about Peter i think he must have done amazing job. Can’t wait to watch the movie just trying to find time to squeeze it in.

@: I’m looking forward to seeing this — sort of. Not sure I want to cry. I read the book long ago, so hopefully I can see the movie on its own and not remember how it differs from the book.

Really looking forward to seeing this film, I read the book and loved it. Love Peter Jackson. Also can’t wait to see the other film he is working on, the Hobbit!

I really loved the book, but I don’t like to watch a movie after I read a good book – It’s just not the same thing and I get disappointed. Peter Jackson is incredible, so I hope he’ll do a great job.

That trailer gives me chills every time I watch it. Minus her murderer still haunting her, the thought of being in your own perfect world in the afterlife is very comforting. My perfect world would mean that all the people I loved, all of my pets that I have lost, would all be with me when it was time.

That’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think about “Lovely Bones”- it made me cry. The book was so wonderful, yet so heartbreaking. Don’t know if I could sit through the movie. But I love Peter Jackson’s work, so I’ll probably give the movie a go when it’s released.

Ya, Jackson captures the grim essence of the novel even while compressing much of its character development and plot detail. He rounds out a fairly amazing decade as a film-maker by anyone’s standards with this sad, dreamy, hopeful film that defies easy genre classification or even summary.
