McCarran Airport has one redeeming feature and that is free Wireless Internet. Although it approximates high speed it is enough to get email and browsing working so that is good. American Airlines is now in the new D Terminal so it at least does not have the tired look that the main terminal has, especially because this is a very busy airport.

This weeks conference was held at the Venetian on the strip. This is my 6th time to Vegas and my 3rd time at the Venetian. It was how ever the first time at a Celebrity Party and after being plied with free Coronas, the results are pictured below.

Sean Connery

I had a long discussed (albeit one sided) with Sean about VoIP and the merits of Hosted vs CPE and he tended to agree with me that although CPE has taken off with the charge lead by Cisco, Hosted VoIP is still to have it’s day.

Treasure Island

I also met some nice VoIP marketing girls although I can’t say where exactly they were from it was obvious that they took sales of hosted VoIP seriously. Las Vegas seems to be a hot bed of commerce especially in the telecommunications space and I look forward to deeper discussions on SIP, OSS and peering next year.
