The Louis Vuitton Pacific Series is on from Jan 30th through February. Despite TVNZ laying on some tremendous coverage, Kiwis (and other sailing lovers) are shut out of coverage live and otherwise. What we are forced to watch are 2 min clips describing how good it was (it’s like describing what kiwi ice cream is like). They also are completely bone-headed when it comes to streaming technology. They are extremely hostile to anyone not using Windows.

That being said, I only know Team New Zealand has won both it’s opening rounds but that really doesn’t matter because they are in the final anyway as defender of record for the regatta. What is interesting is that it is turning into a grude match between Russell Coutts (Oracle BMW USA), Dean Barker (Team NZ) and Brad Butterworth (rouge mercinary Swiss sheep shaggers).

You can find some lightweight coverage from TVNZ here.
