Kiwi Device Makes Driving Green Easier

Sunnyvale CA based automotive devices company PLX Devices has created the PLX Kiwi. A variation on their multifunction gauges, it has an embedded algorithm that calculates mileage and suggests how to drive to maximize fuel economy. The kiwi score keeps track of efficiently you drive.
The Kiwi is a simple to use plug and play device compatible with all 1996 vehicles and up. Kiwi plugs into your existing on board diagnostic port (OBDII), located near your steering column. From this port, Kiwi is able to obtain detailed sensor information about your vehicle. A multitude of sensor data including vehicle speed, RPM, engine load, oxygen sensor readings are all analyzed to determine your vehicle’s optimum driving efficiency.
Kiwi operates much like a game. As you drive, your daily goal is to obtain the highest “Kiwi Score†possible. In doing so, your driving style will be optimized for the highest MPG no matter what vehicle you drive.

nice video and i must say that this device is really useful and if its available in all country it can may serve little bit to making driving green.
That’s a pretty good idea. I always think about my mpg and try to keep my revs low. A lot of people don’t have a clue about eco driving though, so this would be a good idea.

Excelent gadget, especially as its going to change user life style.
It should have very serious impact, i just hope its going to be affordable for general puclic.
I think this device seems good. Hope that it will really teach the drivers how to drive green. But then, why not automatically include it on the cars before sending out the cars on market? That way, new car owners as well as new drivers can immediately start driving green.
